Didn't the 94 go angle eject in 1982 ?

Quite possibly my friend.
My first was an 80's made ae with a cross bolt safety nonsense.
It liked to shoot 2" groups with anything.
But I was young and even dumber than now!

Thanks for that! My GrandFather's Win 70 was on there, chambered in 30 GOVT '06. May of 1941, 'bout the time the Brits were going after the Bismark! It even has the cutout for 5rd strippers. Wish I had the scope mount that it was designed for, top front of the receiver and the side rear, those holes were also used for the receiver sight. That mount is unobtainium now. :( He put a Lyman receiver sight on it.

Sorry for hijacking your thread, Nath.

I am a little concerned with he UK heading for a lead free shooting (sad) world!
I see Hornady does a 30/30 lead free round of around 140gns. Getting them in the UK will be another issue!
Any one here tried them?

Higher velocity because the weight is less, better weight retention with excellent accuracy potential. Due to weight retention penetration acts like one weight class up. 140s will likely be like 160-170s.

Thanks old friend.

The proprietor is away for a week. His son said they have ammo so possibly I will get a try.
Just gotta wait now....

Come to think of it, my 1941 Win 70 would be perfect for a scout scope set-up IF only I could find one to fit! Holes drilled at the front of the receiver with a dovetail blank in the rear sight slot, 5 1/2" from middle of the dovetail to the rear screw with the screws 7/8" apart!

Gamekeeper asked about whether the 94 went AE in 1982. IIRC it was in 1983, possibly 1984 at the latest.

Yes, the AE was introduced in 1982. It might not have been produced until late that year or 1983... as 1982 was all about the John Wayne commemorative!
