I'm amazed that a 22 blank can shoot a golf ball that far...!

I suppose the golf-ball launcher could work on any threaded 22 LR so I'm tempted to try it my Savage bolt action. I wish my Contender pistol barrels were threaded... :(

I'm surprised a lowly 22 LR sends one that far; the one I have is for an AR-15, but I've not used it yet; took a year to get hold of a box of 223 blanks. I'm betting if a 22 LR sends a golf-ball over 100 yards a 223 must send one 4-500 yards, although the ballistic coefficient is probably pretty low...!

P.S. - I just read that the ballistic coefficient of a golf-ball is 0.0359 without taking into account the dimples. Unsure of the accuracy of that claim.

Howdy Folks,
I have a golf ball launcher for an AR.... At low angle of attack, so that you can follow the ball, it probably goes 250 yds or so.. At a higher angle, for max range, who knows.... I lose sight of the ball long before it comes down... A golf ball weighs about 700 gr, at about 350 fps, it'll go 10" into a tightly packed round bale....(From 5 yds)
Before I got the "kit", I shopped for golf balls... I found a 5 gal bucket of them for $7 at a garage sale....
Another thing, the cheap balls seem to wallow all over in the air.. More expensive ones seem to go straight....
Quite entertaining.... Good luck finding a bucket of balls at a garage sale...
(BTW, my AR is .223.... I also have the same setup for a .308, but haven't tried it yet...)

Might be interesting to add a M79 rear sight.

The Savage 101 is hardly a revolver. It just has that look, but is a single shot handgun. I've had one of these 101's for decades, and rarely shoot it. Not even sure why I've kept it, but I think it was for my kids to learn on, and they're all in their late 40's or early 50's now.

I think the guy in the video said the same thing - that he got it for a kid's-learner gun. Then he found it later on and decided to modify it. Looks fun for that use.
