Kentucky Golf

Post by El Chivo »

after mowing the greens and overnight rain, things looked pretty good

putting was very smooth

greens are Kentucky bluegrass and are starting to thicken up after 1 year

working on one more putting green in the front yard

cats are liking the sand trap, I put that in so they wouldn't use the greens

That's a mighty delicate chip shot out of the trap ... 8)

one of my course rules is I can choke up on the pitching wedge. So I can just scoop the ball for a short one. I use wiffle balls until I get on the green, then switch to a regular ball for putting.

My favorite chip shot is to strike the ground and the ball so it pops out like a tiddly-wink. Very short but has something on it, and usually some backspin.

.
I never had the time nor talent to get into real golf, but a neighbor a couple miles down the road set up a putt putt course for a few years and it was always fun to go down there and have a few beers and pretend to be talented at that crazy sport....
