Is there a distinction in your mind between the words "freedom" and "liberty?"

Just curious as the Founders used "liberty" a great deal.

Sorry, Bruce.....but IMHO quoting Fact Checkers doesn't bolster one's position. If George didn't actually say that, I'm betting the bundle that he would have 100% approved of the sentiment.

truth is truth. it is wrong to attribute something to anyone that they in truth did not say.

it is a BIG problem that the U.S. government is posting "fact checks" that are in FACT actual lies.

naturally afpfact check wants it's bona fides to be reliable and trustworthy, [https://factcheck.afp.com/about-us], but reading through their list of "fact-checkers" does not inspire any confidence in me that that organization is without any political agenda that shows up in their "work" to distinguish it from the political shills whose fact-checks comprise making evil, good; and good, evil.

like murdering babies for example, which an enormous number of American residents claim is a good thing to do.

which leads back to the question of afp's POV and commitment to it.

which leads back to the OP, afp did a good job dealing with the question, "did GW really say this?" partial truths are lies, regardless of how they resonate. historical fiction works like this, weaving true things into a fictional narrative, or fictional thing into a true narrative. it can get into a feedback loop with unintended consequences.

When they invented this infinite gender choice stuff I knew we were in trouble, They can pull off the idea a man is a woman by the spoken word they can now say about anything, even re write history. Reason being that more important than justice and liberty is truth because its the language the first two are defined. its like those regimes where the dictator gets out of bed decides what truth and facts are for monday and it could change again tuesday.

Government doesn't have a "right" to govern.

They only have that authority granted by the consent of the people to be governed.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. Experience has taught us that it is much easier to prevent an enemy from posting themselves than it is to dislodge them after they have got possession, and when the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.
George Washington

The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury.
George Washington

However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.
George Washington

When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty.
Thomas Jefferson

When the people are afraid of the government, that's tyranny. But when the government is afraid of the people, that's liberty.
Thomas Jefferson

A true patriot will defend his country from its government.
Thomas Jefferson

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
Thomas Jefferson

Free men do not ask permission to bear arms
Thomas Jefferson

A private central bank issuing the public currency is a greater menace to the liberties of the people than a standing army. We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.

Always beware that the libtard aren't as "tard" as we sometimes think - they will make up something incorrect, that aligns with what 'we' think and say. They then disseminate it, knowing 'we' will pick it up and spread it along.

Then when the time is ripe to make us look foolish, they 'debunk' whatever it is.

They HAVE to do this, because they can't usually 'debunk' what we say as we typically speak facts and truth.

So...... it is wise to double check things we come across, for although sometimes (like this quote) the accuracy may not really be all that pivotal, the libtards WILL use it to 'prove' how we are a bunch of liars and fools.

I've fallen for it many times myself.

Just always be careful, and if you find you've fallen for one of their traps, pull the jaws apart, pull out your appendage, and admit it, correcting whatever 'misinformation' you can. Unlike the libtards, we strive for integrity - notice that when you catch THEM in a lie, they just shout louder, call you a racist, vandalize your vehicle, try to get you fired, or assault you.
