Happy Resurrection Day

Post by Drawdown »

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:16-17
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life"

Watched the movie "Risen" again. It offers a thoughtful perspective on the Resurrection -- a non-believing Roman tribune assigned by Pilate to find the missing body of the crucified Nazarene. And when he finds the Christ, alive among his Disciples, he is awed and humbled.

Sadly, we as his children, continue to be unworthy of the sacrifice made for us.

Watched that during Holy Week too. That and "The Passion". Did not enjoy "The Robe" as much. I usually like the classics, but after watching those two you realize that occasionally some things made more recently are indeed better!

I had to work. I feel relieved that I was not on guard duty at a tomb. Somewhere over 2,000 years ago, some Roman soldiers ran for their lives because they were more afraid of what opened the tomb than they were of death. They knew running away was going to get them beheaded. I sure wouldn't want to interfere with an Angel moving a big stone to let the Son of GOD out.
