A weak moment

Post by OldWin »

Well, I couldn't stand it. Happened to see a 4.25" for a non-gouged price, so I jumped off the cliff.
Dragged home one of the new Pythons the other day. Now, the LAST thing I needed was another 357, but I've kinda been on a Colt thing the past year (possibly because my son chose Colt as our newest grandson's name  ), and couldn't resist.
I have to say, the thing is beautiful. Pictures do not do a justice. The fit and finish is flawless, and the the action feels like it's on roller bearings. It is also quite beefed up when compared to the originals. I'm curious to see how it shoots, but have to wait for some snow to melt and mud season to pass before I can into the range.

Very cool!
I've been hoping they bring out an Anaconda with a 4' barrel, but keep looking at the Pythons.
My dad bought a Python with the 6' about a year ago or so and loves it.

Have fun!

That right there make a man weak, or sick if you'd walked away! In top 3 of my ideas of best pistols, but definitely the best looking handgun ever made IMO. Better be short on money than constantly sick at your stomach, you done right thing!

Awesome !! It's a Great thing to be "weak" while You are Young enough to get out and enjoy. :D . I was talking on the phone yesterday to one of My old shooting buds and He said He can't shoot the .44 mag any more because of His bad arthritis . He is 73 , but the .357 feels fine.

I think you need to give your new Colt to your new Colt, how many other 2 month old boys have their very own Python?

Saw a new 4in at a gun show in Llano recently, looked kinda big compared to my old 8in. It was priced at 19 hundred and was left there. I might have been a buyer at 15. Was not impressed with laminated grips. I'll probably get one of these 4 or 6in as the 8 in is ridiculous to carry.
I recently put the original grips back on mine, they are unused and look brand new. Ive killed quite quite a few turkeys with mine.

Glad that you are happy with it. Hope it never fails to go bang accurately when it is supposed to.

And every year your Colt will be worth more than you paid for it even if you shoot it. Consider it a free gun. I paid $400 for mine so I guess I'll make my money back should I decide to sell it.

Interesting how they beefed it up some.....I don't see a need for that but I'm not an engineer.......the Python frame size is the perfect size for a .357. One day I'll take a few measurements of mine and get back to you on the PI thread....

You have been on a roll lately...SAA and now this...and the 32 a while back.......Colt, S&W,Ruger,Colt,S&W,Ruger.....006

Thanks Johnny. I don't have a ton, but I have a few that are decent. Been on a kick lately.

I'm really surprised they still sell out fairly quick when someone has them in stock. They have been out for a while now.
