After 30 years of marriage we had pretty well worked out. She knew I was a mess and loved me anyway. I did not always understand her but loved her anyway. There were times when she basically said, "I love you but I don't like the way you are doing right now." We were partners, watching each other's back, strangers in a strange land. We turned out to be a pretty good team. I miss her every day. I always thought I would die first but it did not turn out that way. By that time I had learned that people who think they have things in their control are only fooling themselves.

There is no place that tells us to "understand" women. Thankfully we don't need to understand 'em in order to love 'em. In the Good Book it does say plainly "husbands, love your wives like Christ loved the church and gave himself for it" ... I was still learning that when she passed over the Great Divide. We had been married a month short of 45 years.

It's ok joking but where would we be without them.

It all goes back to Adam anyway!
You see God came to visit Adam in the garden of Edam to see how he was doing.
To God's dismay the garden was in a mess, the animals were trashing the place, the elephants were pushing trees over and the monkeys were having fruit fights etc etc so God went and found Adam.
On finding Adam who was holding a beetle, God enquired as to why the place was such a mess?
Adam said " Father, it's all this work you have commissioned me with! Naming all these animals you have created is taking ages, look, I'm still doing beetles!
God said that he is going to provide a helper for Adam. It was to be a beautiful state of the art helper. So beautiful he will fall in love with it and you will become as one with it, he said. Not many things I’ve given up on. But after almost 49 years (June this year) I’m ready to admit defeat. I don’t understand my wife any better today than the day we met. But it’s been a heck of a ride.
