Encore barrels

Post by GunnyMack »

I remember someone here had posted something about a custom barrel maker for TC Encore/ Contender.
Please refresh my memory who that was.
Thanks!

Match Grade Machine
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

I have barrels from EABCO and MatchGradeMachine.
Both good.
Lots of options from either maker.

MGM threaded brake so precisely done I thought they forgot to make it a thread-on cuz I couldn't see the line AT ALL between brake and barrel. 300 Blackout 16".

280 Rem with JP 'tank' brake on the straight 24" no-taper EABCO; just wanted a no corners cut 'nothing to blame but my shooting' barrel.

SSK makes some very nice barrels for the TC Encore and the TC Contender. I have several barrels from MGM and they’re “decent” shooters. I recently purchased a barrel from SSK through HausofArms (Marty Ebbinghaus) and in my opinion are a bit better than MGM and about a hundred bucks cheaper besides. My recent .358 Win SSK barrel is shooting five shot groups under 1 inch at one hundred yards. My last three five shot groups averaged over just .55”. What’s notable about the SSK barrel is that it doesn’t have a barrel hanger bar, no fitted hinge pin, and I’m using a 20 ga shotgun forend on it. I can’t believe how well it shoots. I have to thank a few members on here for helping me out by providing me with a few different bullets to try out in the .358 barrel. It’s a new cartridge for me and now had become my favorite deer cartridge.
