Was lucky today.

Post by Pitchy »

Last fall i built a overhang above the porch door held up with a angled 2x4 on each end, was plowing snow with tractor today and backed into it.
The edge got me right in my upper back and pinched me against the steering wheel busted one of those 2x4 in half, if i would of pulled the clutch handle a second latter i would of been toast.
Thanks you God.

Glad to hear you are still above ground Pitchy. Hardly a year goes by at the farm where some neighbor is not hurt bad or killed by heavy equipment, usually a tractor they've driven a thousand times. My cuz got killed in an ugly manner by a tractor. Be careful pal.

Thanks guys, a person becomes used to what`s around them, that over hang was new and i backed right into it, it could of been worse if i couldn`t of stopped the tractor would of hit the porch and the tires would of kept spinning and Norma wouldn`t of been able to get on it and shut it down.

Happy to hear you're ok.

As was said above, you just never know. I recently re-connected with a friend from high school. We'd lost track of each other after graduation. Super nice guy, just got married for the first time, doing really well and boom! He was helping a neighbor trim a large tree, a branch broke, fell in the wrong direction and hit my friend square in the back. Killed him right there in the yard. Still can't believe it.

Stay safe Sir!

One of our Favorite old Friends who lived near by had a neighbor who was out in the woods dropping a tree and a branch came down as well and they found Him dead several hours later.......about eight weeks ago before the snow started I took the Kubota back to the woods to drag a 30 ' log out of the crick. the bank is only 8' tall but I got too close to the edge and could feel it getting soft .I had it in 1st gear and dropped the clutch ,pulled the log out but I was thanking the Lord as well. that little tractor weights a thousand pounds and would have drowned Me in the crick. .

Glad you're OK, Lenn.

Glad to hear you are OK Lenn 'ol buddy!

But I have to correct you a bit...

Seeing as you have: grandkids who are enthralled with the neat old stuff you build or have; kids who love you and bring their kids around to hang out with you; a good (great) woman who is by your side for all the joy and companionship that entails; all the talents, skills and ambition you possess to make all the stuff you do; plus the love and support of our God -- and all of US HERE.

I'd say...

You sir, are pretty lucky every day!

Hope you are doing well! Cheers!
