Range report

Post by jnyork »

After being in the house for two weeks with the crud, I finally managed to stagger out to my club's weekly levergun silhouette match this morning. Shot my Rossi .357 again, it has a fine trigger and super smooth action , I really like shooting it, the 24" barrel makes is easier to hold. Wind out there was screaming, 15 mph steady and gusts to 20, dust and sand blowing, etc. Temps in the 50's which would not be so bad except for the wind. Anyway, only managed to hit 5/10 on each target so 20/40 total. Wind made my eyes water, could only aim for 4-5 seconds and then everything would get blurred out, as well as making me sway back and forth, I have considerable sail area.

A good time was had anyway, back home by 12:00 for lunch and recliner time.

A rough day at the Range is better than a good day at the Office.

I'd love 50 degrees right now. Looks like a cool place. Kind of like Mars with a few trees. :D

Nice looking range. Nothin like fresh air and recoil to knock the crud out.

I'm sure you enjoyed yourself, even with the wind!
It's 11 degrees here, the blizzard is beginning.
12 to 20+ inches for my area of costal Maine.
I'm getting the place ready for when we lose electric.
It's almost a guarantee with high winds expected throughout the area!

Was wondering if you made it there this winter. Any day you can go to range without a parka is a good day.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres
