Winter Solstice.
So there is this thing that happens at sunset on the winter solstice. There is a slice of light that comes through the house from two windows and a doorway. If you are outside the house on a ladder at sunset you get to see this. The ancients would be proud.

At this latitude it's always positive when our days start getting longer again. Unfortunately, the days start getting shorter June 22nd. Wish it would be like the end of August....or so.
