Merry Christmas!

Post by AmBraCol »

It's a bit early in the week, but will be away from the 'net for several days so wanted to get this in here before heading for the hills.

May you all enjoy a peaceful and blessed celebration of the coming of Jesus the Christ to walk among us and show us a better way. May you find time to spend with friends and family, never forgetting the Reason for the Season.

We'll be on the road for a few days, visiting my inlaws and changing the urban scene for one more agreeable to my personal preferences, but we should be back in time to ring in 2022. When did you first realize that that date sounds exactly like "2020 II"? Here's hoping and praying that the coming new year will bring us all another opportunity for serving our fellow man according to the talents with which we have been endowed by our Creator.

Merry Christmas Paul and to your family and friends wherever they are. There is no distance in the Spirit.

and of course same to all the folks who inhabit this site, because who knows when or where we may see each other again?

Paul, thank you for posting. I have had a momentous trip so far. I drove south at first to visit my ancestral home in Santa Barbara, CA with whom is left in my adopted family, my Dad's best friend's family. Only the women are left now. For this I am sad, but it was also really fruitful to talk to my "Uncle Dan's" sister Dina. We spent hours upon hours together and this is the house where I grew up in, with more and more expansions, that made it into the 3 million dollar house it is now worth. Dina is the only one I think who remembers what the original house looked like. I left at 0500 to get there at 1130 on Sunday. I left again by 0500 to get to Mission Viejo, the following day, to avoid traffic.

We had a wonderful last few days here in Mission Viejo preparing our Christmas meal while we had humongous last minute work being done today in tearing down a 30 year old scaffolding and back yard over-hanging structure.

It has been good trip so far.

Life is moving on, trying to keep up. Big life changes looming soon.

Thank you Paul and Jim, and fellow Levergun's friend's. Christ is born! Said some prayers tonight. We need him more than ever!

Sincerely,

-Tutt

We're back home, but far from caught up. We had a great time with my in-laws out on the lake and then migrated back to the city (perish the thought) where the ones who'd not been able to get out of town were able to join us for a special meal yesterday. Had a great time of fellowship and then an all too short night. Sheri and I took off at 3:40 a.m. to try and beat the traffic and construction - and it worked! It's the first time in YEARS we've made the 200 KM trip in less than 4 hours. Last August I sat still for 7 hours waiting for them to let traffic through due to construction. Anyway, it's good to be home and great to remember the Reason for the Season. Thank you to all who contribute to make this such a great place to hang one's @.
