Need a sling for a Sharps Infantry Rifle

Post by 2ndovc »

I have a Uberti Infantry rifle that I'd like to find a sling for. Looked at the leather makers I know of, but nothing that would look right.

Any ideas?

Dixie Gun Works? Maybe.

See if you can find a Civil War reenactment group or forum, they are sticklers for authentic and might be able to find you drawings and specs so you can get one made, or maybe just buy one from a supplier.

Thanks Ray! Those should be just right.

Appreciate the suggestion Mr. York, Dixie was the first place I looked,

The Sharps is a lot of fun to shoot, but I'd like to be able to throw it on my shoulder to carry it around.

Jason, that military style Sharps is a thing of beauty! Glad you found a good sling for it. Ray, that is one very esoteric website, I enjoyed perusing it! Thanks Guys!!!

Thanks! I thought that site was pretty interesting. I did order one of their slings. I'll let you guys know how it looks.

I've picked up some nice single shot rifles on GB during one panic or another. While everyone else is buying EBRs I picked up this one for $850 in the box and this 1885 Deluxe for $900 also almost new in the box. The '85 is a .30-40 and a pleasure to shoot.

Barbarossa, that looks like a nice group of Sharps! One of these days I'll get my hands one a real Shiloh. :D

No sling provision on this one. I need to go out and shoot it.
