I just got off the phone with Paco ...
He thanked everyone for their prayers. The doctor was surprised when they went in to install the stents. They planned on 3 but the doctor said he only needed one and a half. So they put in two. The doctor said his heart is strong. And Paco said to tell you all that he is doing good, healing up. Still has some pain in the groin but he is healing. He sounded good! Both his daughters and his son-in-law Rick have been with him, which is good.
Thanks everyone.
Thanks everyone.

Excellent...
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

.
Five things I recommend for heart health in males:
1. Keep fasting insulins under 10 (even non-diabetics get 'diabetic' vessels if the insulin level is up, even though the 'sugar' is fine).
2. Keep omega-3 and other 'good fat' (fish, walnut, avocado, & olive) intake adequate so the triglycerides are low and HDL is high (Trig:HDL ratio under 3 or even lower).
3. Keep homocysteine down under eight by taking something like methylgard plus if needed.
4. Keep LDL-P under 1,000 (the NMR particle count, not the same thing as the LDL cholesterol, which is not very accurate). LDL-P is a surrogate for oxidized cholesterol, formed when LDL cholesterol circulates too long, often due to genetic issues more than diet.
5. If free testosterone is low OR total estrogens are high, fix them with HRT and/or anastrozole as appropriate.
Females have higher overall risk for heart disease than men, but similar advice, other than (...of course... ) their hormones are way more complex (but important) to manage, in terms of cardiac risk as well as overall health.
If all five things above are accomplished heart disease gets very rare.
(...not smoking could be #6 but should be a given... )
