We bought this tent that was on sale ..

Post by JimT »

Marked down 50%. Took it into the mountains in November and camped for a couple days. It was cold, miserable and moisture came up through flooring and froze at night making things even more uncomfortable. The zipper did not work properly and froze at times from the snow on it. Some of the side seams started unraveling, letting wind blow in. It was awful.

It was The Winter Of Our Discount Tent.

"Winter" does not start until December 21st. Your experience should have read "Autumn of our Foreign made Tent". Was it a Rossi tent? :D ----006

Are there any US made tents anymore?

When most Redwing and Keene boots are made offshore is it any wonder that folks accept poor quality imports

The good tents are still made here...my son and I have a 12 x 16 wall tent from the Colorado Tent Co....yep...most Red Wings and Danners are made overseas. I have 3 pairs of Redwings and one pair of Danners all made here. The first pair of Danners I bought were Chinese made. I bought them in Colorado and used them on an elk hunt and they leaked bad.......left me with a week of wet feet....when I got back to Denver I took them back and bought u.s made ones...I still wear them intermittently from 2005.

It is hard to find good stuff anymore and it's all of OUR fault...if people stopped buying junk made in China quality would improve but as Americans we are addicted to paying cheap prices.

I have four Ego battery powered outdoor tools. One is made in Vietnam, another in Malaysia and I never bothered to look at the others.

There's really not much we can do...it's a global economy but one thing for sure...I'll never relent on cheap foreign guns....and never did. Bought some quality foreign guns like the jap Miroku and Russian Ak' and SKS's but nothing Italian or s. American.

Ahhh.im brain dead...2:30 I'm hittin' it...more fun tomorrow.---006

Rossi 92..no disrespect intended.... :D :D .....it's an old joke that I started years ago. Rossi has put a lot of guns in the hands of people and that makes us all stronger as a group.

I grew up very biased towards anything made out of country and continued that thinking being a Teamster for 44 years......

It's just that Jim T guy making up all kinds of accusations. He has gone as far to say he makes his own primers from matchsticks!--006

He makes a lot of claims, that Jim guy does, but he never claimed to use matchsticks. (HINT: That's the wrong part of the match.)

Jim...thinking here on how to save money on primers.....First, you need a single action Colt.....you need a gun that has the firing pin on the hammer.........then you go to Home Depot and buy one of those long stick lighters that you use in a fireplace but you have to get the kind that works like a mini torch...like $5......

Then you load your case minus the primer but use a fast burning powder like Bullseye because you don't want the powder reaching the primer hole when the case is horizontal........load the cartridge, pull back the hammer and light the "lighter torch" and point it through the frame hole.....bang!

If Alec Baldwin would have adopted this method he would not be in that life long forever dilemma he's in now.....he will always be remembered as the "guy with the big ego who shot a defenseless girl in the prime of her life.----006

Hey.....I bet even you, the master never thought about that one.....it could work on any gun configured as a single action Colt....even double actions with the pin on the hammer.
