Price Check: 94AE XTR 307 Win.

Post by Mainehunter »

Someone that I know is clearing some of his firearms is selling a 94AE 307 Win. Has the Monte Carlo stock, non-checkered so I'm thinking the year is 83 ish? Really good shape, no box or papers. He wants $950. What you think?

Thanks!

He will get that. There were very few made and this is an early one with no cross bolt safety.

I agree the early ones with bring more money without the cross bolt safeties. I have the same gun and the polishing and bluing is very well done. I bought mine 10 years ago and they were bringing $700 then. I know it is close to a grand but look at what a new Henry cost, and this is much harder to find.

I saw one for sale last month in great shape for $775.00
Pre safety too! If I didn't have a Smith & Wesson on a 60 day hold, I probably would have bought it!
If memory serves me correctly the stock had checkering.
I don't remember if it was a angle eject model. Most likely it was.

Those early AEs had SxS scope mount D&Ts. Inline taps came near the end of using the AE serial number prefix.

I have 5 boxes of W-W 180gr Power Point at my ready if I find a reasonably "mid-90's priced" example.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!
