.
"...They both flinched when the firearm didn’t discharge, Yates said..."
Obviously not enough training...
Seriously though, so sad that people so young would feel life isn't worth living. They probably spent too much time in the land of 'social media' and had a distorted world view; odds are some religious faith could have corrected that. Maybe some non-public-school education, too.

If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

21 and 23 years old. No experience or perspective on the ups and downs of living.
The biggest part of success in life might be just showing up and not quitting.
What a terrible shame.

Re: All kinds of crazy
Yep - too many people think you have to invent something, or be Mother Teresa, to be a good citizen or good person or be 'successful'. Nope. All you need to do is have integrity, and do your best to leave the world in better shape than when you arrived. No particular academic or physical threshold to meet. For those who feel the world is just too terrible a place to want to endure it, perhaps some reading of history or religion would help them realize that 'struggle against evil' is the nature of existence, just as surely as we 'struggle against gravity' every day.Scott Tschirhart wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 7:37 am 21 and 23 years old. And perhaps "the struggle" you speak of is what brings forth something beautiful? Like a new butterfly breaking out of a cocoon? Or a new person coming into the earth? My grand-daughter just brought forth my newest great-grandchild. It was a struggle but a beautiful girl was born.AJMD429 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 9:49 amYep - too many people think you have to invent something, or be Mother Teresa, to be a good citizen or good person or be 'successful'.
