Ruger e-mail regarding Marlin
I did, on Friday, -- asking me to sign up to get the latest news on the reintroduction of same. And Marlin's Facebook page went live for the first time in five years the same afternoon. If they just want to build hype, well, it's working!
Me, I'll take a walnut and blued steel .30WCF with 24-inch barrel and three-quarter magazine please.

Re: Ruger e-mail regarding Marlin
I think they could make some money reissuing the hyphenated cartridges; would be some nice ‘pairs’ they could issue between Ruger and Marlin patents and tooling.
I’d like to see them do something more with the 480 Ruger and they could probably do the Linebaughs as well.
I like the 32-20 stuff too though; I’ve got the 32-20 and 218 Bee but never managed to convince myself I needed a 25-20.
Even their ‘96’ series could be built upon. No less ‘traditional’ than the Savage 99 Marlin 62 or Winchester 88, and there would be shooters who would bite I think, to get the ability to use pointy bullets and a rotary detachable magazine. Be a better vehicle for 218 Bee actually vs the 1894.

Geez Doc dontcha know a 25/20 is what a 22 Mag wished it could be if it was reloadable!
Now if they just would re make the 96 in 22Hornet and .30 Carbine I'd be happy for awhile.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres
250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

336Y here.
Re: Ruger e-mail regarding Marlin
I'd like to see them run the 1894 CL again (32/20, 25/20).

Re: Ruger e-mail regarding Marlin
You know if they will just make a good example in the “regular” calibers: 30-30, 35 REM without these speciality interest calibers to begin with would be a good start.
Re: Ruger e-mail regarding Marlin
I got on the mailing list too, just remember Ruger is a openly traded company on the stock exchanges so they have restrictions as to what they can reveal.

Blued steel & walnut, 24" barrel, half mag in 35 Rem, 13.75 l.o.p., the good folding rear sight but flat top is my order.

Re: Ruger e-mail regarding Marlin
Glad to see Marlin being resurrected under Ruger's management. But it never really applied to my interests, even back 4 decades ago; as my interests have never been towards post WWII Marlin leverguns.

Re: Ruger e-mail regarding Marlin
Looking forward to what they will start with and where they go with new, different models.
I would like to see a return of the XLR series but with a blue and walnut version to go with the stainless/ laminated. Really wanted one of the .338 Marlins.
Also would love to see a Guide style carbine in .35 Remington. I had a Model 336D that was a great rifle but no longer have it. The last one I saw for sale was $2k!

Re: Ruger e-mail regarding Marlin
A well made .30-30 and a well made .35 Rem caliber in the 336 platform should sell. While I have never worn a Marlin to the point of the Marlin Jam, maybe Ruger could find a way to use some wear resistant inserts to make that problem disappear. Maybe Ruger could cast the lifter in Stellite K6 and sell replacements for the old guns. Make that part out of Stellite K6 and 100 years from now the Marlin Jam would be a footnote of History.

Re: Ruger e-mail regarding Marlin
I wanted a 336D really bad, what a cool little rifle. Just couldn't scratch up the cash back then, plus they only made 500 of that exclusive Marlin.
However......I did buy a 336 CB, 30-30, with a 24" octagon barrel. Beautiful, well balanced and tack driver to boot.
