I talked with Paco today.

Post by JimT »

He will be 83 this year! He is doing OK but has slowed down a lot.
HE IS NO LONGER MAKING THE TOOLS.
He said he is "retired" and not doing that anymore.
He does not get around too well and said he no longer goes to the shooting range. He shoots his air guns but that's it.
His voice was strong.
It was good to hear him and talk with him.
I find old friends to be The Most Valuable additions to my life.

Glad you had a good talk. He was the 1st guy I ever heard say that the 30/30 and .30/carbine were very versatile and useable rounds. Todd/3leg
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

He's more than earned his peace and retirement. 8)

Good to hear that he is taking care of himself, that's what retirement is for, god bless him.

Jim, your a lucky fellow, I lost 5 of my old Pals last year to one thing and another or old age and the virus. It seems the world is a much quieter place now.

My Dad just turned 92. Slowing down is a part of age.

Thanks for the update, Jim. Glad to hear he's doing well. 80 seems younger and younger as the years go by, but one must admit that eventually slowing down is part of life.

At 56, there are still quite a few who are older than me. Living past 80 is pretty good. Hope Paco stays healthy for a bunch more years. His books and articles have taught me a bunch.

The wisdom of his books is something I turn to quite a bit from time to time. He is one of the most under rated authors I've ever read.
