Sixgun ... or anyone .. have a Rohm or an RG that I could get cheap? I gave my Bersa away and am missing a nice little pocket pistol.

Jim, have a Rohm .32 revolver you can have if you buy 4 boxes of ammo!

I just bought a Beretta 948 on saturday and cant wait to shoot it later today.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

Take a look at the Beretta 21A Bobcat. A true pocket pistol. Single/double action auto with the Beretta "tip-up barrel" feature allowing you to chamber/unchamber a round without jacking the slide. Neat, very well made. Once you get used to the "tip-up" feature (activated by pushing a little latch just above the trigger guard) any other design seems inconvenient for loading, unloading, checking if a round is chambered, etc. It comes in .22 LR and .25 auto. The similar Tomcat comes in .32 ACP.

Wow! I've got one of those. It was my grandparents top-of-the-wardrobe gun. My grandfather had it at his post office job (rural Kentucky) after a robbery.

Horrible inaccurate, front sight is canted. Last I shot it, it did go bang every time.

Got several boxes of the shorts, probably worth more now than the gun.

No, I'm not giving it up, you'll have to keep trying for the Bersa. Or break down and buy the Ruger LCP.

I confess.....I've owned dozens of Bersa's, Iver Johnsons, Red Jackets, Blue Jackets..blah blah.....I would buy them at auctions, broke, missing parts, sometimes for $5. Then right before Christmas there's always a gun buy program in Philly where I'd sell them for $100 each, and the last time, $200 each...not money, but supermarket food gift cards...I'd go months without paying for food....

I gave it away!
Honestly.
I got it running well with almost anything you put in it.
Then I met someone who needed it more than I did.

Somehow I end up doing that with most of the guns I work on!

But it's OK. I like to help other people get into shooting.

Your old school.......I believe every word you say...or write......while I know it's true I still find it hard to believe to got a Bersa running with anything.....even Rugers don't like junk ammo.....

I'll look around ....always running into someone who needs money or a new toy to play with....you definitely want an auto?

here's a review:

https://www.activeresponsetraining.net/ ... ger-lcp-ii
not about you wecsoger, it's about the gun in the review.

i don't understand why ruger ruined the lcp pistols. i'd buy the 22 if it was the second version of the original gun. that original is perfect. you cannot have an unintentional discharge. no way. but ruger added two unnecessary "features", a glock-like trigger with a glock-like trigger pull, AND a safety, made necessary by the unsafe trigger. two more things to go wrong on a gun that doesn't need them. phoooey. i'd like to give that 22 to someone and take hers in trade so i'd have a ny reload when i'm carrying light.

and thirdly, my wife has no issues shooting her lcp, it doesn't hurt her hands or her wrist or her elbows. because it has no recoil to speak of.... AND the bullets obey her instructions. what's not to like?

ruger MESSED UP imo, trying to make a toy combat firearm

Shucks, Jim. I had a Jennings at Holiday I'd have given you if I'd known. Needs a bit of tuning up (had a hiccup or two each magazine full) but I was scaring the 100 meter rams with it when it went bang - more accurate than it has a right to be.

My tastes are eclectic, to say the least. And I'll try about anything that shoots, once at least. At least the stuff it's been my fortune (misfortune?) to come across. Sometimes being a reverse snob has its appeal. Using "one of those brands" and equaling or besting the ones with the high dollar shooters is a real hoot. After all, it IS the indian more than the arrow - although a good indian with an excellent arrow will usually outshoot the good indian with the mediocre or poor one. But some folks simply can't shoot for beans and believe that a name brand shooting iron is the cure.

I hear ya Paul....people get me wrong..I have NOTHING against foreign guns as I believe the Japs make the best of all of the reproductions and if you can afford a computer, you can afford a decent rifle, not the junk that comes out of S.A....

I've handled plenty of "sub-par" guns.....I believe some of the most reliable AND accurate guns came from Stevens and Mossberg, which as you know, are priced for the working man. Mossberg target rifles in .22 will keep right on up there with a snobby Model 52 Winchester or a Model 37 Remington.

For that matter , the '94 Winchester was a working man's gun...it was the Savage 99's that were for the "uppities".

There's not much I can't work on to get running but how about the guys who know little, save up their money and buy a Rossi? That's the definition of "aggravation". It's people like me who are responsible for Rossi Inc. to better their quality control.---006

A gun isn't like a loaf of bread ...if the bread gets moldy, you throw it out.

If the gun don't work, your day at the match or range is ruined......it's another story if it's a gun fight or a charging animal.

I think you should know that Six and I went to the range this weekend. I brought a few pre 64 Winchester and my Blackhawk.
Six brought his Bersa along with his Rossi ranch rifle. The Bersa jammed on the third shot, he dropped that and went to his cowboy holster and pulled out his trusty H&R 22 single action. Boy can he shoot! Mr. chain blue lightning himself!
I went for a drink of water, when I returned Six was dressed in his Steve McQueen outfit from Wanted Dead or Alive! He reenacted a scene from one episode of McQueen old show.
Quite frankly it looked like he was doing the scene underwater! He looked more like the guy who played Cannon [William Conrad] than McQueen! He was drenched in sweat in minutes. It became hard to understand due to the heavy breathing and screaming curses!
That ranch rifle kept on spraying lead as he stumbled throughout the made up course. I kept my eye on him do to the fact that there were rumors about him.
Supposedly he shot the guy who played Lionel Jefferson on All in the family! That explains a different Lionel on the Jefferson's!
He became winded very quickly in the late spring morning.
We pack up are gear into my Gremlins and were off to are favorite bodega.
We picked up a case of Rheingold extra dry tall boys and a bag of ice. We found a cool dark ally and proceeded to guzzle the sudsy treat!
After 3 tall boys Six started to spray paint the walls and two dumpster with Spanish curse woods.
He reached into his western style shirt and pulled out a doobie of the devils lettuce.
After he hit on that thing for ten or 15 min, he flicked it at a passing nun. He became incoherent and violent!
He then proceeded to tell me how he killed the original Lionel Jefferson! He shot him with a Bersa!
So if a Bersa can kill Lionel Jefferson it's good enough for me!

This reminded me that I have a Jennings in the bottom of my holster box (it's not "good enough" to live amongst the decent guns I guess). Shot it once about 15 years ago, but it did run through a whole magazine without stopping. Think I need to dig it out and see what it will do.
