According to the inflation calculator (Who knows if it’s correct…) that’s about $150 a night in today’s dollars. That’s about today’s price.
Kind regards,
Tycer

People have more today than they ever had....I used to think my generation (baby boomers) had it best but one day I looked in the parking lot of where I worked and saw 3 Mercedes Benz and every other commercial on TV was for cruise ships.

Back in those pre ww1 days you either had money or you didn't....and most didn't...another thing most people didn't have back then......stress.

It APPEARS they have it better. However, nothing is paid for. They work every minute they can to try and hang onto the stuff they don't have time to use.

Let's see:
WWI
Spanish Flu killed more than WWI
The Great Depression
WWII followed closely by Korean War
'Nam
The constant threat of nuclear incineration.
Yeah, there was no stress in the olden days.

No stress = living way below your means and paying cash, and trying to ignore arseholes.

no stress = floating around on the pacific ocean in a commercial fishing boat hoping to catch enough fish to buy gas and grub so you can return to floating around on the pacific ocean

had a covered cockpit. you can get charbroiled in a steel boat sometimes. i've had to hide in the big freezer between lifts when unloading at the co-op. tried to talk my son out of having the job in the fish hold, but no way was he getting out of there !
