Hello - greetings from the Yukon

Post by northern »

My name is Gord and I own the only used rifle shop in the Yukon, located in Whitehorse (G&R). Last night I purchased several old lever action rifles and in the course of trying to determine pricers, came across this site. I have a Stevens Maynard Jr. in .22 short in very good condition, also a Marlin Model1893 in 25-36M,very nice shape, and a marlin take down 25-20M in very good shape. I have never heard of the marlin calibers and need to get prices.
Any help you guys can give me will be warmly appreciated.

Welcome to the fire, Gord! We're glad you found us. I took the liberty of changing your initial title to see if we can generate a bit more interest.

The Marlin in .25-20M is the same as the Winchester cartridge .25-20 WCF. So no issue shooting the common .25-20W in the Marlin. The 1893 in .25-36M will accept .25-35 W. ammo and shoot it safely, but is slightly different, so needs .25-36M dies to reload the .25-35 brass after firing.
I couldn't begin to give you any educated guesstimate of values, and nobody should without great pictures, accurate bore pics or description. The values can vary greatly based on condition, special features, sights, etc. So could be off by many hundreds of dollars either way by guessing.

Plus there's the matter of currency and national markets. Perhaps KirkD might have an idea on values way up north, if supplied with the appropriate pictures and descriptions.

I may have been in your shop in recent years. Would you mind posting a photo of the outside? Thanks.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. As soon as I figure how to load pictures from my phone unto this page, I will do so. Computers are not my strong suit. However, if someone sends me a phone number or texts me, I can respond with pictures...my cell is 867 333 9056. Send me a text and I will send pictures.

Hey, Gord. I can't text from between the Canal and the Equator, but i'd be glad to help with pics, if this doesn't work for you.

On the phone, when you go to write a message, scroll down to where it says "Attachments". Tap on that tab, then tap "Add files". Find the picture on your phone and select it. THen you can choose to share it inline or attached at the bottom of the new topic or answer you're working on.
