Update on my Dad.

Post by piller »

He is doing well. He had an altered mental status event from the pain medicine. That is over. He is to be transferred to a rehab facility on Monday.

Great to hear! Thanks for sharing.

All these levergunners here must send up "magnum" prayers for sure!

This is the hoped-for and prayed-for news, Brian. How is your Mom holding up?

Mom is still sort of in shock. She seems to be making it. She could probably use prayers to help her. First time in her life that she has been alone. More than 3/4ths of a century and never alone.

a big shock. it would be good if someone she knows could stay with her, or close by, to listen and help . . .

He is still in the hospital. His platelet count was too low on Monday. It seems that there is some bleeding internally. Mom doesn't ask many questions. She grew up when you just did not ask questions.
Waiting to see if a barium drink and an X-ray in needed.

Hope he improves soon! Hospital stays suck and I'm sure it's even worse at his age.

Just got the call. He was transferred to a Nursing Home for rehab. They didn't find any place for blood loss.

I cannot get there, and am not able to do much from here. It is bothering me. Knowing that there are others also praying for him is a comfort. At the age of 91, almost 92, years and in ill health, he is doing better than I expected.
