Marbles W1 aperture
I am in need of said aperture, have contacted Marbles and no longer have 10-40 only the new 10-32. I found a place online aperturesnmore. I have tried to contact them but all my devices and browsers come up forbidden for email. Their site says old style but no thread pitch is given.
Just got this from my Uncle’s estate, 1894 32-40 made in 1895, 23xxx serial no. 26 inch octagon barrel, have rounded up cowboy dies, brass and cast bullets from Extreme. Going to start with Rx7 unless any of you have suggestions.
Also got a 3rd Gen, SAA .357 5 1/2 bbl that my dad carved the walnut grips for as a Christmas gift for his brother.

Nope, darn electronics, that’s a 92 38-40 and SAA 38-40 I’ll try again.

Pretty much... there's just NOTHING wrong when a Winchester levergun and a Colt SAA are paired up!
From my 1860 Henry and Colt 1851s, to a .30-30 mdl 94 & Colt SAAs in 45 Colt, every pairing I have is just goodness and RIGHT, personified!!!
That's a wonderful pair to have as a reminder of your Uncle!

Re: Marbles W1 aperture
Nice! Very nice!
I've been shooting your Marlin's younger brother -- made in 1906. It has shot well with RL-7 but by the time I got enough powder in to burn consistent the velocities were up where I needed (or at least I assumed I needed) my gas-checked bullet. If you have plain-based bullets you'll probably do better with something that gives less velocity or you may outstrip the abilities of the bullet.
Looking at my notes, with a 175 grain plain-based bullet 7 grains of TrailBoss gave good accuracy and about 1100 fps. and 8 grains TB shot decently at 1200 fps. 8 grains of Unique looked good and gave around 1400 fps.

I've often found -- and sold too -- "vintage" gun parts on ebay, have you looked there?Fisher-Price wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 5:02 pm I am in need of said aperture, have contacted Marbles and no longer have 10-40 only the new 10-32. You might get lucky and find one.

I like the grips on the 38/40. How about a little info on those 2. What bullets and powder do you use in them.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Re: Marbles W1 aperture
I was hoping one you might know the aperturesnmore people or be able to email them, for $11 I might just take a chance and see if it fits. I had the W1 my Dad took it off of another 1892 38-40 carbine, it was mounted very off center, I replaced it with a modern Marbles so I could adjust it to zero.
The .38-40 is 1994 production 3rd Gen, I wanted it to match calibers with the .38-40 rifles I have and that is also the configuration that John Wayne originally carried, a 5 1/2 .38-40.
The 1892 rifle is 1894 production 49xxx serial. I'd have to look at my records in the barn but I think I am shooting a 6.8 gr Unique in those with a Coated Missouri 180 gr bullet. That is the load that shot closest to the sights on the SAA, and I zeroed the rifles to that load.

Happy to report that the aperturesnmore aperture is the correct pitch for the old sights.

There is not a phone number or address listed only email and that would not work for me.
