Sunday Sermon
If our theology is not empowering us to love ourselves and love others more and more ... it is worthless!
Regardless of how true it is.

Jim, I like to think that my theology helps me to see good in myself and in others, sometimes though I go a little Viking when perhaps I should turn the other cheek..
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

well ... maybe once .........
Re: Sunday Sermon
my theology is that theology doesn't save us. my theology is that YHWH gave his only begotten Son in our place on a cross so that whosoever believes in Yeshua is adopted as God's son, and saved from the lake of fire.

Re: Sunday Sermon
True .. theology has no saving power. I could have used the words "religion" or "spiritual beliefs" instead of the word "theology" in the opening statement .....
Re: Sunday Sermon
wasn't meant to contend or correct, i got your meaning, take your point and agree with it.
i love theology actually, which i understand as searching scripture to acquaint myself as fully as possible with Father, Son, and Spirit . . .
i think we agree . . .

I do well at charity and kindness and benefit-of-the-doubt, until an entity (typically some snowflake-driven socialist-utopia policy being crammed down our throats by the insurance/government cartel) threatens to harm my patients....then the volcano starts to smoke and smolder. Same doubly so for family.

Re: Sunday Sermon
Even Jesus got violent with the spiritual leaders who were knowingly doing wrong and leading others to do wrong. I am not saying that we should use violence, but there are times it is the right answer. If you read the Word of GOD and listen to the Holy Spirit, you can truly be at peace. Having a personal relationship with the Creator of all things is what my reading of the Scripture leads me toward.
