...just took about 5 minutes, but I can’t figure how to load a cartridge into it...

A Nurse Practitioner student gifted it to me; thank goodness that isn’t illegal yet...!

I don't need any more dust collectors, but that's still a cool gift. Probably illegal in the UK and Japan, but still a cool bit of die cast metal.

Skimmed through the guns at the link and figured out they're probably verboten here too, due to the asinine "military toys not allowed" law. Suddenly I've got an urge for a 1/3 scale Thompson...

....”military toys not allowed”...

I already respected you for the work you do but now I have an entirely greater level of respect, with a little bit of sympathy added. I can’t imagine living in an environment like that.

This one is especially bad because it has the dreaded “fun switch”...

Right now they are going after "traumatic weapons" that fire rubber ball projectiles. Somehow they've been imported for a couple of years or so because of cracks in the law. A recent opinion by TPTB included the bit about "military toys". Actually, the bit that DOES apply has nothing to do with toys, they are firearms since they use a chemical composition that burns at a rapid rate to propel the rubber projectile. And as firearms they come under the control of the government since the government has a monopoly on firearms here. I'm amazed at how long they flew under the radar and am not at all surprised that they finally hit the fan as they are the natural tool both of criminals and honest citizens who have been denied the ability to legally purchase a firearm from the bloated governmental monopoly. I almost regret not having purchased one and a supply of ammo "just because", but don't need the paper trail that would have resulted pointing my way. The sad part is that they might end up restricting the formerly relatively unrestricted air powered market. THAT is what really irks me.

Anyway, those are interesting bits of metal. How is the quality of the die cast?

Is that the one that fires a shot on the squeeze and one on the release?

Yeah, Sixer - tell us more about that...! Never heard of 'em... Are they really a conversion of some sort, or just a 'binary trigger' or what...?

As far as the die-cast quality on the GOAT Guns, I'd say better-than-average, but I'd also say "....but they'd be REALLY cool if they were made of steel..." 8)

Of course then they'd cost a heck of a lot more, too. For a desk-toy or something to just have to irritate liberals ( ), they are well-enough made. The type of metal means that for instance, you probably wouldn't swap out the 'suppressor' for the 'flash hider' very many times before the thread-wear converted them into the 'slip-on' quick-detach model... :D

Paul,
Yes, it's a binary trigger made by Franklin Armory. I also have them for AR-15's......here's the reasoning as semi auto is more than enough for me and ripping off a mag in a couple of seconds gets old real fast.

Back in the seventies "auto sears" were widely advertised in Shotgun News for $200....cash and carry.......as AR's were your "father's" AR, inaccurate and plastic, they did not interest a whole lot of people. They were nothing but a block of metal that you put in the lower of the AR........I was in my twenties and $200 was about a weeks gross income.........naturally the ATF got involved and taxed them the additional $200.....you registered them with a serial number...........registered auto Sears now bring $20,000.

Yea....should have bought a boatload of them.

My theory the same thing is going to happen to binary triggers.....the Feds can't just tell you to throw them out like they did with $1.98 bump stocks....these triggers are not cheap...$500 for the AR and $300 for the 10-22.

I'm just speculating and hopefully capitalizing in the future.

The 10-22 trigger is a blast.....as you know zero recoil unlike an AR.....you can dump a 30 rd mag in about 3 seconds and unlike bump stocks, quite accurately.

I know a guy who inherited TWO auto Sears and has no use for them but will not sell them...I offered him 30 big ones and he won't bite.

If you get interested tell your brother these triggers are well worth the $300.....little tricky to install but after you do the first one, it's a 15 minute job. I'll say the same for the AR binary triggers....5 minutes to install and just keep it on a lower and you can move it from gun to gun.----------6

Doc.....I don't know what that thing is you posted...if it's transferable, then it converts a 10-22 to full auto and must have been made before 1986. With a binary you fire on pull and release....pretty much like a 2 round burst.....I've fired original m-16's with the three round burst triggers....you pull back, hold, and three rounds go off. The 2 rds binary is just a smidgen slower, not much.

My guess is they would be near impossible to get right now...sold out, whatever.....I ain't saying on a public forum but I invested a small sum on these.

IF......IF....it pans out to my speculation the prices will jump to 10 g's overnight.
