Oh my gosh !

Post by 6pt-sika »

One day I sell stuff to try and get my accumulation in check then the next day I have to buy something ! Sold my circa 1920’s Ithaca SBT and my S&W 29-2 4” two days ago . Today I committed for something I’ve been after for a couple years , a Parker SC grade single barrel trap circa 1934 guns in very nice shape 32” full choke . I had missed out on this gun a couple years ago as a friend in GA beat me to the punch , today I struck a deal with him to take possession at the Southern Side by Side in Sanford in late April .

I don't know what you had to give up for it, but the wood alone is worth a bunch. Beautiful shotgun, well done! Is it a shooter or a collectible?

I’m trying to get my accumulation down to a manageable number to fit in two saves at a friends house when I move out the country . So it’s in the correct direction but the space savings is a wash since the two long guns take the same amount of space and the revolver takes up no space .

I got it at a price that I thought to be inline or maybe a bit below what the market will stand right now . Yes I think the woods pretty darn sporty ! Initially I emailed this friend to see if he new of any for sale not in the normal places and he told me he had one he was contemplating selling . FWIW he has two of this grade an B grade and an A grade . So now for all intents and purposes he’s down to a single C grade . The only thing that would (to me) make this one any better was if it were 34” instead of 32” but then I don’t plan on shooting competitive trap so it’s a moot point .

Wow! That is beautiful!
Glad I didn't know about that 29. I would have been sorely tempted.
I bought a 3" round butt 629-2 a week or so ago.

I know 6pt! Not to derail your post but the prices on Smiths has gone nuts. I thought I way overpaid for the 629. It came with box and papers in unfired condition. The price on the box was $399.99. I paid considerably more :D . I was kind of getting buyers remorse, then saw one sell on GB for 2300
That made me feel better!
I still need a 4" 686, but with these prices.......?

I’ve got my 19-3 6” for sale , 41 7” for sale and am contemplating putting my 19-3 4” on the block as well . Kimber’s are doing well also I’m thinking of letting my 1911 10mm 6” hit the block and perhaps the 1911 3 1/2” 45 .

Got most of that covered, but the 19-3 4" is tempting just the same. :D
I just sold a Springfield Micro Compact Loaded (officers) .45 for long money a couple weeks ago. Yours will go quick. Start high! :D
I have a bunch of 1911s, but just can't warm to the officer's size. It was a great pistol, but I decided now was a good time to let her go.

Same here OldWin, I had a Colts Officers acp. I just didn't like the size no matter how hard I tried! I sold that one last year and bought the Colt Lightweight Commander model! Fits my hand perfectly and pretty easy to carry with a good belt and holster!
That Parker shotgun is about the best looking shotgun I've ever seen! Congratulations and good luck with that beauty! Last time I was at the local gun shop they had a fantastic Parker behind the counter. I didn't get to handle it though. I saw the price tag at $6,700.00 on sale now for$5,850.00. If I was only a rich man!

Yup. I had a beautiful Colt Officers that had had a lot of custom work back in the 90s. Carried it a while then swapped it for an enhanced Colt LW Commander. Had it ever since. I have two Combat Commanders and a worked over Springfield full size too. Have an Argentine too but my son is going to take that I think.

That is a very awesome looking gun!! sounds like i am fairly normal after all
been thinning the herd the last few months, the other day i sold two Marlins a 38-55 CB & a 1894 in 44-40
and previous to that a bunch of hand guns & a few long guns, oh & a 629 with the stubby barrel, i may miss
the 629 but the Ruger Alaskan in 454 gives up nothing to the 629 except a few ounces, just trying to get down
to having a bit more practical lot of guns, I may or may not follow that course all that close

I’ve got my eye on a Parker CH grade 12 gauge with 30” barrels and a straight grip stock . I want that gun for three reasons 1. It’s a CH grade , 2. It’s straight grip and 3. It had a buck engraved on the floor plate 8)

I honestly sold my last AR the end of last week . AR-10 in 338 Federal , someone in AK bought it . So now the only thing I remotely have that could be misconstrued as a terrorist tool are my two M1 Carbine’s my pop and grand pop got in 1962 . They can go to h...e...l...l before I give those up .

There’s a Parker BH grade 10 gauge on a 3 frame with I think 30” barrels at an upcoming auction . I’d kinda like to have it but I already have over a dozen 10 gauge guns .

We had a “friendly” , 8 gauge five stand shoot Friday morning at the Southern . Three of us had Parker 8’s (lifter , top lever hammer and hammerless), one LC Smith , a Lefever and a European hammer gun . The Parker lifter and the Lefever shooters went 25 straight .

At Mike Koneski’s shoot in late July in PA there will be an 8 gauge class . Only 15 targets I think .

I picked up some stuff that deals were made before we got to NC . Got six bags of WIN 1 1/4 12 gauge wads , box of older 12 gauge #2 buck factory loads , 16 boxes of WIN and REM 12 gauge 1 1/4 ounce #6 loads , two cans of SR7625 and the single barrel trap pictured above . And last but not least a gun I’d been haggling with a friend over since Thursday . I shot it Sunday morning at 5-Stand for the first time and broke 23 of 25 so brought it home with me . It’s a Parker DHE 20 gauge 0 frame 30 inch full and full with a straight grip and skeleton buttplate .
