Not a levergun but interesting to me.

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

Old flattop.44 Magnum (1956). I think I like the mesquite stocks better (for shooting) than the stags.

Probably, but I'm a real sucker for stag grips. I have a set of k frame and a set of N frame stags looking for a revolver to call home. :D

I like stags too. That reminds me, I need to take a file to the front sight of that old 1937 Smith.

Stags just look and feel right on an N frame.

Yep, I'd rather they shoot a couple inches high than low....

I prefer my stags, but the bark on them isn't very deep so they don't have any bite with stiff loads.

The ones for that 3 screw just don't have the right shape. I may have to reshape them just a bit.

I think I would be better off with a pair of longer Mesquite grips that give me a little more to hang onto.

I really like those round butt stags!

Several nice looking sets of grips in this topic. I agree with horsesoldier03 about not having too deep of texture so that they don't bite.
