The "Little Joe" Crossbow

Post by Old No7 »

Interesting little device here, as shared with me by my twin who is into long bows...

His text said:
"It was very quiet (just 72 decibels on firing) and very accurate (6” groups at 20 yards), with an effective range of 30 yards, at which distance the bolt would pass through a uniformed soldier.”

I'll bet Pitchy could make one of these!

Not a bad idea at all. Bows are quiet, but not everyone is good with them. That little pistol crossbow would be silent and deadly. Any pointed and edged weapon that can get a pass through on a human target will have a chance for a kill. Taking out sentries as quickly and quietly as possible is always of value to the combat troops. There are small 1 handed crossbows you can buy now. A three blade 1 inch broadhead on the bolt would cause a lot of blood loss in a hurry if it hit an artery or vein.

Wow the "original" saturday night special. Never saw this design before, pretty cool.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!
