Two-tone Rugers

Post by Oldncrusty »

Has anyone else 2-toned their Rugers? Mine (.45 convertible) was done when I got it. It was a nice price because I think it may have turned some people off. I've done a little polishing on the Al, and changed grips. It definitely grew on me. Now I wouldn't mind another.

Two tone handguns have been around for a very long time. I like the look, and yours is a nice example of the concept. Two toned autos are available. When brass was used for the grip frame and steel for the rest, there were some very nice looking revolvers that were the standard look. My Ruger that is .45 Colt with the .45 ACP conversion cylinder is just the standard blue. It is simply a utilitarian look. The grips on yours look nice, too. There is no rule about what a firearm is supposed to look like as far as decorative coloration.

I got the brass frame from Midway, very nice casting but a lot of fitting and polishing involved. The added weight helps absorb recoil too.

Some of the Cowboy Church locations allow you to come with revolvers in holsters.

My Faith runs deep, but I wouldn’t set foot in a church that didn’t allow carrying of firearms.

It’s not about what I can get away with; it’s about not wanting to pretend I respect church leaders who value being ‘woke’ more than they value innocent lives. People like that disgust me, all the more so if they claim to be ‘Christians’.

Notice up in our Church states that concealed carry is welcome. Sort of makes it difficult to figure out who has a pistol and who doesn't. No one has come in and tried to start anything. They would get to be judged by the highest court that there is, was, and will always be.

I think brass looks great on a Ruger.
