What Make Holster Is This

Post by jkbrea »

Can anyone ID who makes this holster? It was given to me. It fits my old model Vaquero perfect except it's made for a 7 1/2" barrel. It seems very well made. I can't make out the logo. It is stamped 22 07 on the back.

That looks like a Smith & Wesson logo to me, but I don't know if they ever made holsters.

It is a S&W holster from what looks like the mid 1980s.

The 22 is probably ghe holster model, and the 7 is the barrel length.

I've had one since about 1980 or so. Used to tote my 1851 Navy around in it, though it wasn't made for one. Found out later that it fit a Super Blackhawk perfectly. No idea who they contracted them from but it's well made and I find that I still use it more than the $120 El Passo that I bough for the SBH a couple years ago.

Thats what I thought but its hard to make out. It is very well made. Very solid.
I really like it. Now I may have to buy another SAA to get all the use from it!

I have a holster I've had for years that I always thought was a hunter. Finally realized it was a S&W one day. Explains the thicker leather.

It is a S&W holster, and they are very good quality. I'm pretty sure S&W didn't make holsters, but they had them made by others. Never have found info on which company made them for S&W.
