:D . The Fox Squirrels here are having a tough time this week , only bout 2" of snow but in the low 20's till Sunday . lots of ice on the ground making it a big job to find acorns. The squirrels all year and the Hummingbirds in the summer sure make Me happy. Only another Dog ( Rat Terrier ) would make things complete.

I guess I can sympathize with that Squirrel  the ones I've seen over here are the skinniest Squirrels I've ever seen, I've also shot a couple of Pheasants that didn't have enough meat on them to make a decent sandwich.
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

Squirrels here are used to lots of snow. They tunnel in the snow to forage for the loot they stashed away in the fall. Or they just hole up in their nest.
Of course, all that is the least of their worries around here.
Soon as they show themselves my dad shoots them to keep em out of his bird feeders. He shoots them with a pellet gun. Some are quite large and tough, but he has refined his craft over the years and is an effective sniper.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

Our grays are fat as raccoons. Our enormous pin oak has had great mast production the last few years, plus the squirrels have found something in the galls to eat. Wasp larvae? At least I figured out how they were getting in the shed and stopped that nonsense.

Rat Terriers are such great little dogs! I've always been a big dog guy but Jackson is so darned smart and thinks he's a Great Dane! Best alarm system I've ever had. You can't hide from those ears. His best friend was our Dane, Lucy. Those two were inseparable.

This is the best description of a Rat I've seen! :D

Our Rat Terrier is a great alarm. He is really good mannered on walks. He walks beside you as if trained. No trying to drag you.
