The Smarter Every Day videos are great; I posted about the one where he constructed this cannon a few months back, but I can’t find that post.

Anyhow the baseball is going Mach 1.3 or so if I recall correctly... :shock:

The muzzle blast is astounding.

Gotta admit, I'd not want to blow up a gun that big, but I'd be all about weighing that baseball, finding out what size steel ball-bearing was just a bit less in weight, and putting it in a lightweight sabot...

Then the next project would be time-travelling so I could go after a T-rex... :D

It would be interesting to see what a glob of it the size of a tri-axle dump truck bed would do. Especially if it did the jumping up in the air jiggle dance you see sometimes....!
