Prayer Request

Post by JimT »

My friend John Lepp in Pemba, Mozambique passed away two days ago. I just got the word this morning. His wife is there .. under quarantine ... and the family is in Canada ... unable to travel. She will be having a Memorial Service at her house with just a few friends. I know she would appreciate your thoughts and prayers. We were very close. We traveled across Mozambique together and they came to Johannesburg when my wife had the stroke. I wish I could be there for her.

Prayers for Mrs Lepp are on their way.
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

Will do. She sure looks happy in that photo, so that's a plus.

Sorry to hear of his death.

That's a fine looking spiral staircase. Is it in Mozambique?

Yes. John designed and built it. He built the entire house and it is amazing. He was such a great guy.

Have you heard from her? How is she doing? If you hear from her, let her know that she has a support group over here. Knowing that someone cares is often a big help when you have lost a loved one.

Sorry I missed this post earlier Jim. Prayers up for sure. I have a friend whose mother passed away during all of this. Could not see her and could not attend the funeral (the "service" was virtual only, being held in one of "those" states in the northeast). Very sad... :(

I have been in touch with her via email. She had a small funeral service with a few friends. Because of the virus they were not allowed to have more than 8 i believe it was. She also had a small gathering at her home for a memorial. My friends at the Iris Global Mission Base there put together a video of photos from friends around the world and presented it to her. I was honored to be able to add some photos of Twyla and me and John and MaryLou. Back in 2014 the 4 of us traveled across northern Mozambique and then camped for a week on Lake Malawi.

Her daughter is with her and that helps. Plus friends there are dropping in. People from all over the world have been praying for her and I know it helps.

Thanks Guys,

EDIT: for those that don't know, funerals have to happen within a day or so there as there is no morgue, no facilities for holding a body, no mortuary services. And it's hot. So funerals happen real soon after death.
