1885 Winchester...RF to CF...DONE!
I finally finished my "Bring It Back From The Dead" 1885 Winchester . Converted from RF to CF, relined barrel and a whole bunch of other fixes.
You can read all about it with tons of pictures on my web site

Hope you like it!

Re: 1885 Winchester...RF to CF...DONE!
Drilling the barrel at 1/8" at a time takes a few hours......I do not have a pressure oil feed on the lathe so..Cut..Clean..Lube...Cut..repeat...176 times!
Other than that making the new link took about an hour
Chambering...30 minutes
Setting the barrel...15 minutes
cutting the extractor slot....30 minutes
Crowning the barrel....10 minutes

Aw man, what's not to like? I had one just like it for about an hour at the Wanamacher. Shoulda kept it. NOT. I do not need another project. But you did fine. I really like it.

Wow, nicely done!!!
But after seeing that pile of chips... You have me rethinking my plans to drill out that old 22 roller of mine using a handheld drill...

Great work.....! resurrecting a vintage firearm back from the dead.
I will say that I would have preferred rechambering to .32 S&W Long which is closer to the original chambering.
