Mike - I like it. At first I glanced over your phone # and contact info. Maybe you can increase the size of that or make something that'll attract attention to it. On your CC and bluing prices - you did not specify if that is stripped and polished to you or if you are including disassembly, strip and polish in the price. When I receive inquiries about those services most of the time the client thinks it is a "send me the gun as is" price and I "take it from there". So, lately I've been breaking down the pricing to include a ready-to-blue/cc part and receipt of a complete firearm that requires me to disassemble, prep, complete and re-assemble. Good job on the sight and nice quality on the photos!

Very nice. Sleek. It loads fast and is easy to navigate on Safari, Firefox, iPhone, Internet Exploder. Phone number and email are picked up by recognition software on iPhone.

+1 on increasing contact info size, it's invisible on my iPhone. Perhaps locating it to the top of the page for smartphone users.

On RESTORATIONS page, paragraph 2, line one should read "....was missing the buttplate, the wood..."

On GALLERY page, when the pics are clicked on, they are too small to see well and they are not labeled. MORE PICS!!! Man your work is beautiful!!!
Kind regards,
Tycer

Bruce,

For complete restorations...I'm pretty much sticking to Winchesters, mostly because of the parts situation. If I've got to spend a day or two hunting down parts or making new parts it becomes cost prohibitive. Winchester parts are still available from folks like Bob Knapp, the barrels & mag tubes I make as well as all the screws.

For Bluing & CCH I have no problem doing other models, as long as the steel is case hardenable

I like it better than the old site, clean and neat like your work.

Clean and easy to read.

Agreed, contact info should be much larger and easier to spot. Right-upper part of page I would say, or under a "CONTACT ME" link with the rest.

Bigger pics as well.

Taking notes for my Web Mistress.

Issue with pics is that they were taken off the old site, they are a fixed size, and I've been told that they will become "pixilated" if blown up.... She has told me "pixilated" is a baaaad thing.

So as more work goes out... more new pics will be taken.

Not much to add on what the others said except for the back ground color. It may just be me but a light tinting of the back ground is easier on my eyes then a bright white back ground. Like a really light shade of tan or green tends to be very comfortable to stare at for long periods. Other then that I like it very easy to navigate.

It used to be that any background color slowed load time.

I think its pretty darn good....
the guys have given you some pretty good suggestions...
The only thing I would do on the home page is get a high resolution shot
of one of your finish projects on a deer hide or something....or like one of KirkD pics...
and put your contact info within it somehow....or just below it...

Outstanding work.....

I love your work Mike. I agree some different background color, contact information in a contact link and some new pics to include overall shots.

Very fast loading and clean - nothing bad about that. I'll second the request for some sort of mild tint to the page (light gray like this site or an Old West friendly parchment etc.) because blinding white is a bit hard on the eyes. The pics are a bit small and I'd love to see more examples of your work, especially CCH and bluing. And photos of the re-done lettering and markings would be a great point of interest I'd think.

I hope business is good!

Best,
Oly

Yes, pixelation is bad.

Use a high-resolution digital camera on a macro setup for some serious closeups, that'll help.

Just my $0.02, Mike - The home page looks too white/plain, un-interesting at first glance. (there's only one chance to make a 1st impression) - and the background of the pic on the "Barrel" & " Finishes" pages is so dark as to make your usual excellent work hard to see..

IMO, the "What we do" stuff on the home page ought to be placed below the rifle pic/mission statement, and as suggested, the rifle pic needs to be in color, with possibly a nice background w/fancy border.

The Barrel & Finish section pics need a lighter background.

Nothing personal, but when I'm thinking about doing business with someone I like to know where they are. A lot of places put their contact information all together with phone number, e-mail address and physical address.

Nice job! My only comment is the mission statement on the home page should be moved to the right so the rifle isn't right behind it. The overlap hides what you are trying to say.
