I THINK THE BARREL IS TOO SHORT TO BE A MOUNTIE.

I'm thinking on bidding on that one in the am. been wanting to replace my tds since I was stupid and sold it. Hope i don't step on anyones toes here. let me know and I will back out

Congratulations! Very good buy IMO. The cross bolt safety started in 1988. I have a 1988 39AS 24". It shoots real good, and the safety really isn't a bother unless you forget it on. Don't ask me how I know that. I swear that squirrel has nine lives!
Anywho, please post some more pics once you get it. I'm really curious about it. Must be a TDS I guess?
Hope it shoots as good as it looks!

+1. Looks like a 39TDS with the 16.5" bbl, and those were introduced in the late 80s. Not quite 25 yrs old.

But a TDS under $500 is a good deal for Mike. Congrats!

it's a shame marlin quit making rifles like it and the 1897. i like my old 39 but it's heavier and the barrels' too long and the wood's too thick. but i still like it :?
