I my opinion, the 73 action was pretty good for the times it served, because it's pretty easy to understand and work on, even with only minimal tools.

Re: New Leveraction Yellow Boy, 45 Colt
I've had a 19" Yellowboy carbine in 45 Colt I got NIB back in Jan 2014 as well. It's a lot of fun to shoot standard pressure loads. I've found that X-Treme's plated 255grn bullets with a tapered cone, flat point type nose, feed better than an Elmer Keith style I use in my SA Army pistol as the...

New Leveraction Yellow Boy, 45 Colt
Maybe I will get a picture posted later. I bought a used but very slick, Uberti 66 Yellow Boy. It was imported by Tri-Star. I got to shoot it, a couple of months ago, before I bought it. So, I knew it shot to point of am with the crude carbine sights. It has a 16" light contour round barrel, no...

I saw that add too, frankly I was kind of excited. I have killed a lot of carpenter bees with a Ruger single six and the crimped .22 shot shells. It seems like the pattern ought to be better out of a smooth bore. I have been killing a lot of carpenter bees this year with a .410 side by side, shootin...

I have had a couple of Harley's for many years. The belt drive is really pretty good as was said but you need to be careful on dirt/gravel roads. Thanks for the reply, the rifle in question is a 357 magnum and if I can shoot 6" groups or less at 100 yds, I'll be happy. Not sure the peep or red dot can get me there. They can all get you there, if your gun is accurate, which it should be capable of certainly less then 6 inch groups with d...

I like them all, but if I could own just one, then I think I would choose a pre-64 with a 20" barrel, and long for-end wood, I am thinking a 50's error or late 40's, although a pre-WWII would also be nice if I found a good one. But I do own an 1898 or might be 97, can't remember for sure, 26 in...

Well, that is tempting even at that price, but I already have a longer barreled polished stainless Old Army, and I haven't exactly been wearing it out, but it's there if I need it. . As another person who's actually shot one with that Shockwave Technologies Raptor grip, I can un-equivocally state that: 1) The grip does NOT slip in the had during firing, due to the sticky rubberized material it's made from. 2) Since the trigger hand does not move due to the grip material, ther...

I watched the Hickok vids, and some others, what I glean from it is: 1. It's a fun gun to shoot 2. It could be effective in a home defense situation 3. Even though though fun and effective, it still not the best choice for anything, unless it's needed for shear compactness, as it's still harder and ...

It just so happened that I handled one of these at the local gunshop today.
