I couldn't get that Hunter's Supply 190 gr bullet to shoot well at all in a Ballard rifled 35 Remington. The few I had left got shoved into 38 cases with good dose of 4227, for sort of a Pugnose Super Police load. There they shot fine, but print high from an Airweight 38. IIRC I got 670 fps from a 1...

In the 80s I had a used 1894 Marlin 44 Mag that was just about hopeless. It only saw factory ammo while I owned it. After much trial and error I finally got it under 3" at 50 yards with, IIRC Federal 180 JHP. By comparison, I had a SMLE Jungle Carbine I could shoot that well at twice the distan...
