Yes, Sharpe's closing essay on pressure is full of interesting facts, observations, and corrections to "common knowledge". Great reading. This type of stuff is one reason that I have so little time for reading fiction novels and watching TV.

Congratulations! That looks a lot like the one I was shooting at the range today! To answer your question, NO, the mag tube is screwed in solid and does not appear to be able to unscrew if the lever at the tip is closed. The takedown is easy, just follow the instructions in the manual!

Yes, I like shooting the .405 also. I have a Winchester/Miroku 1895 deluxe in .405 that has never been fired and would like a Grade 1 to shoot and hunt with. The takedown feature on my 1886 is so nice that I want an 1895 .405 like that.
