I still need to get some proper leather ordered for this Raptor.
Thinking about something like this Cobra skin from Simply Rugged.

Does this qualify as a BBQ Gun?
I treated myself this week and bought my first Kimber 1911. A Commander size Pro Raptor II, 45 ACP, of course. It came with very serviceable Zebrawood grips, but I thought I'd dress it up with a set of SK Grips made from 10,000 year old Mastodon Ivory with a blue/gray/black tone. It's not as perdy a...

Garmin has come up with quite an impressive unit for us handloaders. If it turns out to be half as good as what I'm reading, it will be the death of the LabRadar units. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/771164 I've been wanting to buy a Labrador for a while, but I've been too busy to handload much lat...

I have my Pre-order in at Midway. The Garmin appears to have overcome the issues that the Lab Radar units have, in a far smaller and user friendly package. They will sell every one that they can make at $599.

I like the 380. I've had several over the years, but the only one I currently have is a Rock Island Baby Rock. Sort of a mini 1911. This particular one is from the collection of our departed friend Jeff Quinn of Gunblast fame. It's 100% reliable, carries nice and flat, and I like the option of carry...

I only cast 00 buck shot, but it has the same annoying spru. As mentioned, a rotory tumbler will get them pretty round. I've even put them in a round plastic can and let them roll around in the back of m truck for a few days.

Well, ballisticly anyway. I've been playing with a new AR that I put together in 25-45 Sharps, and I've been thoroughly impressed with it so far. It's nothing more than a 223 necked up to hold .257" bullets. Magazine length restrictions limit bullets to the 70 gr. to 100 gr for best performance...

I think you're in the ballpark at $600. That's a very useful, classic rifle. Unfortunately too many people overlook the grand old 30-06 these days for one of the newer fashionable cartridges.

Added rare one to 375 collection
I recently stumbled onto a Savage 99, 375 Winchester and couldn't resist adding it to my collection of 375's. It's in phenomenal condition. Doubt you'd ever find a nicer one. The only rifle factory chambered in 375 Winchester that I'm needing to round out the pile is the Valmet 412 O/U double rifle....

Quickload?
I've been playing with a new AR15 barrel in 25-45 Sharps. Load data is scarce, so I was hoping someone with Quickload could run some numbers for me to see if I'm out of line with where I came up with a good load.
So far, I'm impressed with this little cartridge. Basically, it's a modern 250 Savage.

On Friday, we were hammered with large hail again. 3rd time since 2006. Fortunately, there is no broken glass, but there are areas where ...

I stop in the Sierra factory store often to see what they have literally barrels of in seconds. Sometimes they are seconds not because they are lesser quality.
