It started out as a MkI in 1873 and was subsequently upgraded to a MkII. In 1900 it was converted to .303. I like the XS but it's designed for the AE and mine is a top ejector. I would need to drill two holes on the front of the receiver to fit it - something I would prefer to avoid.

I do have a Kwik-Site side mount for the BB which I may use.
