There have been lots of posts on this - sometimes the 'search' function doesn't find stuff though (especially if it is a 'caliber' or has a hyphen). Most of the posts seem to run along the lines of individual guns varying more than the type of rifling, even though the theory is micro-groove won't wo...

Terminal patients also don't usually like it when friends and relatives 'dance around' the issue of their imminent death. Not to dwell on it, but at least acknowledging it, is important to them - after all - it IS the biggest issue going on, and the reason everyone is suddenly visiting.

Re: Pointy Bullets In A .218 Bee
Spitzer bullets really don't offer any advantage in the 218 Bee, especially when using the Marlin, as it is a 175-yard cartridge in that rifle. A good bolt action might stretch that to 200 yards. Bullets lighter than 50 grains will work best. It does seem that unless you're really needing that down...

But you can't tell that to someone who is convinced they have to have high velocity and tons of energy. Try taking a look at some of the Mojo sights . Replaces the rear sight with a peep and is a drop in, so no permanent modifications. Chris I have one on a 7.62 and it seems decent. The trick to putting a 92 together is to place a fired case in the front of the bolt so that it is held by the extractor. This will hold the ejector spring compressed. This will then let you slide the bolt into the chamber and install the lever. Steve Young AKA Nate Kiowa Jones sells a CD on his si...

The safetys on the Marlins I don't mind - they are well made and positive, and there are several easy ways to disable them for those so inclined (that don't involve any permanent alteration of the gun - Slip-on O-rings, Spring retainer clips, and overtightening an internal screw all come to mind).
