I may eliminate 30-30 this year if I can't get a nice accurate load. Then I'd have .35's exclusively (35 Rem and .357 magnum). Well I do have a .243 but I don't load for it. I still like the idea of 260 Rem, I think it would eliminate .243, .270, .308, and 25-06. But I don't need it. I have just nev...

I prefer the Hornady bullets for that reason; they have the mark further to the back than other brands. They just contact the rifling in my Marlin. I asked this question a while ago, I was worried about pressure. But it seems that contacting the rifling adds so little pressure, it's not an issue. Th...

I'm sure there will be enough barrel, as the new bore is only 1/2mm larger than the old one - 6mm to 6.5mm. Only 1/4mm will be removed from each side. However, this may not be enough to wipe out the old lands and create new lands. New lands will have to start where the old groove left off. According...

Re: New Tang Sight -- I can see!
another suggestion - get a globe front like the Lyman 17.
Then you can use a large aperture and still get great accuracy - the ring of the globe can be aligned inside the aperture circle and its easy to see if it's centered since they are close in size - a ring within a ring.

their 22lr is noticeably more accurate than other brands in my guns (Winchester, Remington, CCI) especially the subsonic.
I also used to use it in 38 special and .357 magnum, always right in there as most accurate or runner up.

Sounds like you don't need to worry about parallax if you're only shooting at 4x at moderate ranges. Basically the image is going to be sharpest at 100 yards (or 50, if it's set for that) and blurry at other distances. When the image focuses in front of, or behind the reticle, it means what you see ...

we talked about this recently and it was debunked as far as fast powders go. The real culprit seems to be reduced charges of slow powders; the primer flashes along the airspace and only ignites enough powder to push the bullet partway down the barrel. Or perhaps the primer itself pushes the bullet o...

One thing I see about this cartridge vs. 35 Rem is to see if accuracy is affected by how much neck tension there is. The 35 Rem bullet starts sloping almost immediately. It's made for a short neck.
