I saw a black one two-three years ago cross the road in front of my truck about 70 yards away. He was about 130 lbs, real nice and fat with a long tail - could not see the eyes. This was about half-way between Menard and Mason Tx. Saw a big regular sandy colored cat in San Angelo last year about 150...

I doubt if even the mammalian protuberances of A.Jolie contribute much to this epic poem. My favorite translation from the Old English is from JRR Tolkien. While I expect it would be hard to find a copy, I would highly recommend reading this aloud with your boy, letting him read every other page - I...

lever 4 life: That sign is cool. I have been collecting Keen Kutter tools for many years - mostly wood working tools I use in my guitar shop. The steel in the KK chisels is perfect - soft enough to sharpen quickly, hard enough to hold an edge. I picked up many of these during my wanderings in N.Cal ...

In 1942, my friend Mr. Carl was forcibly marched along with about 74,000 men for 60 miles. These men were given one sip of water and no food for 5-6 days. Many of these men did not survive the march (about 18,000). Mr. Carl lost almost 100 pounds before his release from the POW camp. I saw a picture...

I shot a nice doe last week with 150 core lockt at 40 yards in the neck (26 in barrel) it turned the vertebrae into oatmeal - dear was dead before it hit the ground. I have used these for years along with 125 hollow points - only difference is the recoil. The 150 left an exit hole about like a silve...

Guys here is a handy tip for stringing slotted headstocks (esp, 12 strings): Get a pair of curved tip hemostats and grind off the locking mechanism till it no longer locks every time you squeeze it. This tool will fit easily in the slots and let you grab strings for unstringing and restringing. I ha...

Nice score! I have been repairing stringed instruments for almost 20 years, and my experience with Martins from the 90's is mostly positive. Very small chisels called gravers chisels are available at a jewelers supply. These are well made (can not remember brand) and only require that you grind them to your specific purpose, I hollow grind mine and have about ten of them, some are very tiny - like 1/16. Such an outfit may also carry high...

I was hunting the Cactus Ranch last year, had been in a tree where I nailed a board to sit on and was watching a 25 acre field of wheat full of deer about 2 hours looking for the fattest doe. I shot the rifle length 1895 in30-40 last year when a buddy brought one to the ranch in West Texas. Nice shooter, easy recoil, would have bought it - he wasn't selling. The only ones at the ranch that did not like it were the two fat does he nailed from the truck (bad leg, he can't walk far). Both d...
