Re: Heavy "444" bullets
I suggest you add in that empty line 300 grains. Yeah, and if I ever get a .444, that's likely what I'll do, if nothing else because it will be easier to get hold of 300 grain bullets. It does seem funny though that the bullets for .430 are so unusually light vs. the nearby diameter ones. I'll bet ...

I find them kind of 'jumpy' but little real recoil, but I'm used to 1911 .45's. I don't think they ever had a reputation as being very reliable, which would concern me in a CCW gun, and the cartridge isn't a great stopper unless you use the premium ammunition. It is also not a small gun to conceal. ...

Re: Where to find .454 Casull RIFLE ballistics
That may be because the 454 Casull originated as a pistol cartridge and it's use in rifles is a relatively new adaptation and not widespead. Usually takes the manuals a while to catch up! For example, a lot of older reloading manuals do not show rifle data for the 45LC. Actually, I was thinking abo...

I'm not sure any 'fat-bullet' gun is worth much at 500 yards; even if you could dope the wind, and hit something that has a full second or more to step out of line, there isn't much punch left for any but the heaviest bullets. If you wanted to hit 55-gallon drums or worry enemy troops, that would be...

Where to find .454 Casull RIFLE ballistics
I realize I can use .454 pistol loads in my Puma, but the published velocities for reload data seem never to be applicable to rifles, and it would be nice to have a better idea of what to expect and what is possible with reasonable (not 'killer') loads from a rifle. Is there a bunch of RIFLE .454 da...
