Thanks a ton for the article. Been wondering for a long time. I wouldn't amount to a pimple on any of these folks rears, but if I were sneak in I would most likely have my NM 4 5/8 BH .45 convertible, and the Ruger 4.25" SP 101 in .327. Both in Simply Rugged pancakes.

An old watch maker/repairman I knew said that the gold standard for watch oil was porpoise oil. They have a small pocket of oil inside their jawbone for lubricating their mandibular joint.

I dusted off and snapped a couple pics of some of my native artifact collection. I wanted to show an authentic version of American knife making. The black knife blade is from the Adena culture, circa 200 b.c to 200 a.d.

Misc. Atlatl and bow points from 5000 b.c. to 1200 a.d.

Another primitive weapon

Seems there are several here interested in bows and other primitive weapons so I thought I would share this. It was made and given to me by a friend who is into flint knapping in appreciation for letting him hunt on my place. Blade is obsidian.

I'd sure be bragging on that hunt. Other than migratory birds, I am sol for bird hunting. The grouse disappeared after the turkeys were reestablished, and we have never had enough quail to hunt. I need to find a pay to play outfit.

Ya did well and you know, the test will be in the field or clay birds….. I really like the way this one feels. But I've never been much of a wingshot. Got to get down to the local club and join up and try some trap shooting. I was expecting some open choke on the 26" bbls., but she's a 2 and 4.

. I was gonna say......"32-20".....but since nobody else said that, I'm guessing they never made the Colt SAA in that chambering. If so, it would be a SWEET gun, and I think my favorite, as I like my Ruger Blackhawk 'Buckeye' in 32-20 quite a bit. They made plenty in .32-20. I'm guessing ...
