Re: Need a little help w/ an old Stevens double.

I've got an old Rossi double, firing pins were ruined from dry fire. Got a couple new ones from Jack First and replaced them. Had to cut them with a Dremel type tool at one point due to the end being peened over from dry firing. Once that was done the new ones fit perfectly and worked a charm. Don't...

Sounds like you're going to need at least a cylinder and a barrel to get it up and running proper. After watching JimT's restoration of that old H&R, this one would be a cake walk. :D I'm still stuck in the late 20th Century as for prices, seems like it's a $50 - $100 project gun. Today, yeah, ...

Now that's an interesting looking contraption. Didn't know they made them in that persuasion. Haven't owned a double barrel pistol since I sent my old Rossi side by side 22 down the river. I think that over/under arrangement would be a bit easier to get to shoot reasonably in line with the sights.

Straight blowback design, you run into serious issues if trying to upscale too much. Makes me wonder if it'd hold up to that Seismic ammo Ray posted about recently. 185 gr 9mm out of a carbine should be interesting - if the action can handle it.
