Re: 1873 Replica's, Questions
I just sold My Uberti in .45colt. It was made like a 100 year old Winnie.Just beautiful. If I get another it would be in .357.it's just too tempting to hot-rod the Colt and I couldn't think wrecking a fine rifle.

Re: BEST ACTION: WINCHESTER 94 or MARLIN 336?
I have a Winchester Model 64 made in'53 30-30.the action sounds like a Remington 870 wingmaster. I also have a Win '94 made in 1896-38-55. it is like a Wingmaster full of Butter. I think that the "Master" made them to ware "IN" and not out. I love the Marlin's too,but then the Sa...

I finally looked at one at a sporting goods that did not have a zip-tie on the lever. I asked the clerk about trouble with them and he said they didn't have any come back to the store. I worked the action and it was o.k. but the rebounding hammer felt like a toy from china. I have long been a fan of...

Joe,I too have pondered this for years.Browning did make a run of 92's in .45colt.most of them are well stored and very pricey.Navy arms made some nice 92's with walnut stocks.A few of them around....like You I am less than thrilled with My Winnie 94,even if it is a great test gun. In My previous post I didn't clearly explain Myself. I am not against using the 32-20 on Deer, but the load described was a lite cowboy-action type. A hot load with Hornady XTP or a 115gr hardcast over a max load of 2400 is a whole different thing.

My CL shoots very well, but I wonder if 11gr of 2400 isnt too hot with the lazercast. 10 gr shoots 1700 in my Marlin but began to lead after about 20 rounds. my gun made in '89 was new in box. Jim.

Out of my 24" barrel, 18.5 gr of 2400 under my Lyman/Keith 265 gr went 1490fps thru the chrony.
the same bullet over 27gr of 296 went 1800fps.
both very good shooting loads.
