I've got a '43 Smith Corona 03A3 that someone had already taken the collector value from. I built a psuedo scout out of it in 2012. Its a great shooter and a neat rifle.

I've had em that shot high, but it's always been carbines with a pinned insert. These sights got filed or worn down and can cause serious elevation problems. The 30wcf should suffer the least cause it's a flatter shooting cartridge than the other offerings of the day. While your rifle wears what app...

I don't think a 260gr at 1600fps will be all that bad out of the .44. I've always heard what a kicker the 44 is out of a 92 or 94 but just haven't found it to be the case. Some will depend on the rifle. Rifle, carbine, stock configuration. I've driven 240s out of a Browning 92 to those levels and it...

All too common occurrence in these parts, unfortunately.
Certain areas have high car/moose incidents. That is looked at when deciding permit numbers for hunts in some if the districts.
You wouldn't think so, but at night, they are almost impossible to see.

Sounds like about 75% of my old Winchesters. Most all of mine have wear and patina. Treat them just like they were new. Keep them clean and oiled. Especially when you return home from field use. Won't hurt em a bit. If you're like me, after a while you were prefer rifles like that over the real mint...
